Therapist Attracted to Client

Therapist attracted to client can come out of other reasons. We meet new people every day, and for a therapist clients come and go and during a career you meet many different people. Some clients are more nicer than others, more beautiful etc. Being attracted to someone it`s normal, you can`t control your feelings, but letting your feelings and your thoughts become real it`s a mistake. A therapist is not allowed to have intimate relationships with the client, from many reasons. Mostly because the patients come with problems that need to be solved, and they come because there is no other person that can listen to them.
If your doctor becomes more intimate, the whole doctor patient relationship is destroyed. The therapist can start having feelings for a pacient after a few sessions. As a therapist you come to understand and to know very well someone. A patient tells stories that can be quite intimate and sometimes even sex related. If the patient is also beautiful and has a great character the therapist might be attracted. This is in the case of a mental therapist, a person who solves problems like stress, depression, love problems, bad habits etc.
The therapy category includes much more types of therapists like : massage therapist, group therapist, counseling therapist for couples etc. For a massage therapist to fall in love with a client is more easy. Because the therapist touches the client, a much intim relationship can develop in a short time. There are also erotic massages that can also start great romances but, in a real doctor`s office, like a therapist/doctor, the relationship between client and doctor is not allowed.
So as a conclusion, there are few cases when the doctor has started a relationship with a client. There are strict laws on this subject and having a relationship can mean the end of a career. People just don`t risk everything for a simple fling or just a crush. A professional should transfer that patient to another therapist that can really help him. It`s best to prevent than to solve later. As a therapist you have to think at the health of your patient. If you play with his thoughts and feelings when he is already challenged, you may cause serious problems so it`s best to keep any feelings for yourself or stop helping that particular patient.
