A health mental therapist gives advice to patients in order to take positive decisions and changes in their life. Some doctors work in hospitals with mentally ill patients and some choose to work in private clinics, government agencies and youth homes. A therapist can choose his program. There are doctors who work weekends also because they have patients that need them and there are doctors that work 8 hours a day and weekends off. This is the best part off this job, especially if you have a private office, you can make your own program. The work place of a therapist is a comfortable environment, classy and very relaxing. It`s very important that the workplace is calming especially for the clients.
Besides workplace and environment health mental therapists need to have finished studies and more than just college. For a therapist you need degree in psychology , PhD and license. Few succeed in becoming successful therapists because it implies effort and all kinds of other extracurricular activities like volunteering for a clinic, being an assistant for a few years, experience is a must have because we are talking about human lives and there is no room for mistakes. These health mental therapists have to be calm people with extremely developed communication and oral skills because they interact with people every day, and because this is their job, knowing how to talk is very important. They are regularly evaluated mentally so that they can still continue to practice.
Also very important in this job is observing different stuff at your patients. A therapist gives a diagnosis after a few sessions in which he listens to the patient`s problems and guides him to more positive thinking. For example there are people who have unresolved feeling about their father, mother or anyone else. Usually people come to therapy to solve their issues with family abuse and so they have trouble sleeping at night since they where children. A therapist can help by making the patient face his fears. Talking about these feelings and expressing them freely releases the patient from any tension. Slowly but surely the patient will get better after a while. In therapy it all takes time, it`s not an open wound to treat so, the soul and the mind are more difficult things to crack open. In the end , therapists are an important asset to the medical community.
